Tom Fertal
Partner & Strategic Advisor
Tom has served Catholic education for 25 years in roles spanning Dean of Students, Campus Minister, Assistant Principal, Principal, and three-time President. He currently serves as the founding President of Holy Cross High School, a new, independent Catholic high school rooted in classical curriculum. Across his leadership posts, Tom has a proven record of driving institutional renewal—growing enrollment, focusing and energizing governance, increasing philanthropic support, and elevating culture through bold vision and mission clarity.
A graduate of Penn State University, Tom is a veteran of the United States Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard, bringing disciplined, mission-first leadership to every community he serves. He is known for aligning people and strategy—clarifying purpose, focusing teams on what matters most, and converting vision into visible progress for students, families, and faculty alike. His work consistently results in stronger advancement efforts, more engaged stakeholders, and sustained momentum.
Tom and his wife, Patty, have been married for 31 years and are the proud parents of six children. Outside of work, he’s a game enthusiast and wannabe rock star who enjoys fitness, the outdoors, guitar, golf, red wine, and dark chocolate—though not necessarily in that order.
