Steven Virgadamo

Nationally recognized for his transformational impact on Catholic education, Steven Virgadamo has spent over three decades guiding schools, dioceses, religious communities, and ministries in advancing governance, leadership, enrollment, and long-term sustainability. His career spans thousands of institutions and nearly every U.S. diocese, where he has helped build capacity, shape culture, and align leadership with Gospel-rooted mission.
Steven has held prominent national leadership roles including Associate Superintendent for the Archdiocese of New York, Director with the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE), and Vice President at Catholic School Management, Inc. He also served as a Partner at Partners in Mission, where he designed and led its strategic planning and organizational assessment practice, and was part of the founding leadership team at Partners in Mission School Leadership Search Solutions—further extending his legacy of service to Catholic institutions and their leaders.
A trusted strategist in executive search, governance, strategic planning, and system-wide design, Steven is also a dynamic keynote speaker and retreat leader who has trained thousands of Catholic leaders and board members across the country. His visionary counsel has led to measurable growth in enrollment, advancement, Catholic identity, and institutional clarity.
A passionate advocate for school choice and educational access, Steven has served as a Senior Fellow for Advocacy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and the California Public Policy Institute. Over the course of his career, he has helped raise more than $500 million in philanthropic support for Catholic schools and ministries. Honored as one of the most influential figures in Catholic education over the past 25 years, Steven received the NCEA Lifetime Achievement Award and the Monsignor John Meyers Presidential Award. He continues to accompany and form leaders who keep Catholic mission strong—today and for generations to come.
