James McCann is a relationship-centered talent engagement leader serving Catholic schools, dioceses, religious communities, and social ministries. As Director of Talent and Mission Engagement, he supports ACELA’s leadership searches and outreach efforts by engaging and recruiting mission-fit candidates, nurturing early conversations with institutions, and helping translate insights into clear, practical guidance that supports confident next steps. In these early conversations, James also helps communities reflect on their broader leadership, organizational, and mission needs—working in collaboration with ACELA’s broader team to explore how the firm’s full range of solutions may thoughtfully support their goals and context. His work is rooted in listening first, ensuring that talent, opportunity, and mission alignment remain at the center of every engagement.
James’s judgment was shaped over nearly a decade at Dun & Bradstreet, where he specialized in fact-finding and due diligence—vetting individuals and organizations, identifying risk, and distilling complex research into decision-ready insight. That foundation is complemented by more than 20 years as a national leader in the wireless industry, including roles with AT&T and T-Mobile. There, he led large regional and national teams across major markets, coached and developed talent, built disciplined recruiting pipelines, and sourced dependable leaders through clarity, consistency, and steady follow-through.
