About Holy Angels Academy

Holy Angels Academy is a private, independent, co-educational Catholic school serving students from three-year-old Pre-School through Grade Twelve. The Academy is fully accredited by the National Association of Private, Catholic, and Independent Schools (NAPCIS) and is recognized as a Newman Guide Recommended School, reflecting its unwavering commitment to authentic Catholic identity and classical education.

Holy Angels Academy is a vibrant and faithful Catholic community dedicated to the spiritual, intellectual, and personal formation of its students. Our mission is to educate and form young people through Catholic schooling in the classical tradition, preparing them to lead holy and honorable lives in service to God and country, and ultimately to attain the end for which they were created: eternal happiness with God.

Headmaster Purpose

The Headmaster serves as the chief administrator, academic leader, and spiritual steward of Holy Angels Academy. Reporting to and working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees, the Headmaster is responsible for ensuring fidelity to the Academy’s mission across all grade levels (PS–12) and for providing leadership in all aspects of school life, including Catholic identity, academics, faculty and staff development, student formation, enrollment, operations, and advancement.

This role requires a devout, practicing Catholic who lives the faith authentically and leads by example—one who inspires students, faculty, families, and the broader community through joyful witness, sound judgment, and faithful leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Mission and Catholic Identity

  • Serve as the visible and active spiritual leader of the school community.
  • Ensure all curricula, programs, policies, and communications are aligned with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the mission of Holy Angels Academy.

  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, and retain mission-aligned faculty and staff committed to excellence and faithful Catholic education.
  • Lead ongoing professional development that integrates sound pedagogy with Catholic educational philosophy in the classical tradition.

Student Life and Formation

  • Ensure student formation—spiritual, moral, intellectual, and emotional—is central to the life of the school.
  • Promote a disciplined, joyful, and respectful environment reflective of Catholic virtue and the dignity of the human person.
  • Support co-curricular and extracurricular programs that encourage leadership, service, and character development.

Leadership and Administration

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the Academy in alignment with strategic priorities, Board policies, and Catholic mission.
  • Supervise administrative leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, archdiocesan guidelines where applicable, and all relevant laws and regulations.

Advancement, Enrollment, and Community Engagement

  • Serve as the primary ambassador of Holy Angels Academy to prospective families, alumni, donors, and the wider Catholic community.
  • Support the mission advancement team in strengthening a culture of philanthropy and stewardship.
  • Oversee enrollment strategies to attract and retain mission-fit families.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, Catholic organizations and apostolates, and community partners.

Governance and Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to define and advance the long-term vision and strategic priorities of the Academy.
  • Provide regular reports to the Board on institutional health, including academics, mission alignment, enrollment, staffing, and finances.
  • Manage school resources prudently and transparently to ensure financial sustainability and long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • A devout, practicing Catholic in full communion with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, committed to living and promoting the mission of Holy Angels Academy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead faculty and staff across a comprehensive PS–12 educational environment.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, Theology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and pastoral leadership skills.
  • Preferred: Prior experience in Catholic school leadership.
  • Preferred: Background in classical or liberal arts education.
